Described by the yachting press at her launch as ‘one of the finest pleasure craft built on the Clyde,’ this exceptional yacht offers the opportunity to become an outstanding private vessel of ideal proportions. Over thew past 10 years has undergone a significant refit unfortunately circumstances have now change and she requires a new owner to continue the restoration process.

Constructed by James Silver & Co. in Rosneath, Scotland in 1937, this vessel was designed by John Bain, the resident marine architect who later became Managing Director of the yard. Bain is recognised for his distinctive motor yacht designs, which established the yard’s esteemed reputation.
This particular yacht is one of three constructed to the same specifications and ranks among the largest vessels produced by the yard. At the time of her launch, she represented an advanced design with modern lines that continue to embody the timeless appeal of period motor yachts. Characteristic features include a long keel, raked stem, canoe stern, spacious aft deck, and raised midships superstructure.
The vessel has remained ashore in dry dock for several years, during which she has undergone significant refurbishment under current ownership; however, these efforts have recently ceased. Restoration work has included refitting the deck and topsides, with comprehensive invoices available for review.
Internally, the yacht largely retains its original layout, with some mahogany joinery still present. Certain areas and cabins have been modified or removed, providing future owners the opportunity to redesign the interior to suit their preferences while preserving key original elements and updating the yacht for contemporary use.
She is powered by a pair of modern Perkins M135 diesel engines with minimal hours of operation. This elegant yacht offers substantial interior volume and presents considerable potential for high-standard refitting, making her an impressive presence in any harbour worldwide. Significant time and financial resources have been invested in her restoration in recent years; however, she now requires a new owner to continue this commitment and return her to sea.
This project presents considerable promise for creating a remarkable yacht.
The project can be completed in the dry dock after negotiations with the owners. If the vessel is not used as a yacht, it could serve as a holiday home or even a permanent residence at Ironwharf Boat Yard, where it could be ideally berthed as a floating cottage.
As a a floating home the berth will need to be negotiated.
