Castle Cove Sailing Club, Portland Harbour Dorset UK
Moonshine, a fin keel Sonata for racing or cruising, is a very solid dry boat in very good condition.
She comes with a steerable yard cradle, a fitted but easily removable Nemo jib furler, rod kicker, two mainsails (one with a bolt rope and one with slugs), some genoas (including one to fit the furler) and a spinnaker, a new Rocna 6kg anchor, masthead navigation lights, cabin light, 10W solar panel and large 12V battery and a large amount of instrumentation and accessories listed below.
My reasons for sale are that I am recently remarried and my new wife is not very keen on sailing, and I'm getting a little too old and stiff to comfortably clamber from a tender onto a boat on a swinging mooring. We are also emigrating to avoid the British weather.
The photos of Moonshine are unvarnished. I have not “tarted her up for sale”, so you see her just as she came out of the water: a bit grubby with a little growth and surrounded by other boats in the yard.
The cabin has head and side lining and seat good cushions, although the pics don't show that.
The yard cradle has steering, road wheels and a tow hitch, which is an absolute boon for manoeuvering and towing, with the boat on it, in a boatyard. The cradle can also be towed empty and slowly on the road.
The photos show an outboard motor, which is not included, but the spring bracket it is mounted on is included, as well as the equipment listed above, plus:
Twin Garmin GMI20 displays for wind speed and angle, water depth, speed and other info
Garmin gWind wind speed and angle detector
Garmin GND10 network bridge
Airmar Triducer DST800V Multisensor
Clipper GPS repeater
An new Standard Horizon 25 Watt fixed VHF radio, with mast antenna and MMSI
Two handheld VHF radios
Gas cooker with heating attachment
Transparent washboards as well as the wooden ones
Horseshoe lifebuoy and miscellaneous life jackets
